We work as a way to obtain the things we need. The wages for our labor can be used to pay for food and water. So, in reality, we work in order to eat and drink.

We get thirsty and we drink! Duh! If we do not drink we will die.

Why do we eat? The word that describes the urge to eat is hunger! We get hungry and we eat to a satisfy that urge.
